Humility

I received an insight last night into the real value of humility. If one is truely humble, one cannot fail to discern Truth. It is the one personal attribute that will ensure you do not falter.

Do you suppose that humility is something that can be prayed for as we know we can pray for faith? Does anyone have a good deficintion of humility? Is it an attitude or an emotional state of sorts?

Hi Jackie,

Yes, you can pray for humility! I pray for it every chance I get. I pray for it along with sincerity. I believe Humility and sincerity go hand in hand.

If you look in the poetry section, you will find a poem called "A Humble shade of Grass" that I wrote (8/2/2002). If you have not read it, I hope that it helps and that you like it.

God knows what you need before you ask. But you gotta ask anyway. Right? Free will and all... So ask and ask and ask!!!!

Of course, you can spend the next eternity just asking for the Love, and "all else will be added unto you." But that can get a bit monotonous, so I find it enjoyable to add some variety to my prayers:

"Our Father, Who art in Heaven, please send to me... a new car! Amen, and thank You!"

We can, in fact, be guided as to what we need to pray for... And we can pray for that guidance. And we can pray to be more prayerful. And so on...

As Marianne Williamson writes, the pity is that we so often forget to ask.

God is good to me... God is soo good to me... ;)
