| Forum Guidelines and Term of Service |
The Divine Love Fellowship Forum is a meeting place for people on the “divine pathway” of soul transformation. This transformation, or “new birth,” is brought about by the prayer for and reception of God’s love – known as the Divine Love – into the human soul. Our basic textbook on this divine path and related subjects is the “Padgett messages” – a collection of channeled writings from Jesus of Nazareth and others, received by James Padgett, a Washington D.C. attorney, in the early years of the last century. The teachings of the Padgett messages, in turn, find extensive support in the texts of the Bible. One major service the messages perform is to illuminate many unexplained or controversial passages in the Bible. While the Fellowship is not dogmatic in its adherence to the Padgett messages, these provide a model of reality which is generally consistent with the observations and experiences of its members, and serves as the “starting point” for our collective spiritual exploration. We also welcome those from other spiritual disciplines and traditions who wish to learn more about the divine love teachings. The “Comparing Notes” section of the board is dedicated to discussions relating to various other religious traditions. Please understand, though, that it’s not intended as a forum for debunking or proselytizing. In the spirit of the Divine Love Fellowship: In addition to being a place where divine love teachings can be talked about, the Forum also exists as a place for divine love to be manifested. Insofar as love can be expressed as words on a computer screen, our desire is that the Forum exist as a sanctuary of love on the internet. While the exchange of ideas and feelings in the Forum may be passionate at times, it is our goal to keep the flow of communication based upon mutual giving from the heart. Such communication is characterized by deep listening, respect, and empathy. It is also characterized by the absence of judgments of the personal character, integrity, intelligence, and motives of another. In short, we ask that all participants observe the law of love, and “love thy neighbor as thyself” when posting to the Forum. If an individual chooses to post in a manner that disregards this purpose, the moderators may delete the post, and, if necessary, prevent that individual from further posting until compassionate communication has been restored. Although the administrators and moderators will attempt to keep objectionable posts off the Forum, it may not be possible to review every post. All posts express the views of the author, and the administrators of the Forum cannot be held responsible for their content. About Spiritual Truth and Mediumship: “Into each soul has God breathed the Spirit of Truth. Believe this Spirit before all else.” The Divine Love Fellowship acknowledges each person’s ability to discern and substantiate the truth. We believe that a prolonged and sincere desire to know truth opens the doors of physical and spiritual perception, and draws to us the truth that we seek. We also believe that the development of a personal relationship with God is the single most important thing one can do to foster their soul’s progression and their capacity to perceive and utilize spiritual truth. We acknowledge that the accuracy of a mediumistic channeling is dependent upon a number of factors, most important of which is the soul condition of the medium and the spirit-writer. Since it is often difficult to objectively verify the accuracy of a particular channeling – and since the appearance of a celestial angel's name does not necessarily certify its accuracy – it is our conviction that the truth or untruth of any information received through mediumship must ultimately be discerned and determined by the reader. We hold absolute respect for the sanctity of human freewill, and so make no attempt to dictate the nature and content of another's spiritual beliefs. While the central topic of the Forum is the divine love teachings delivered through James Padgett, we understand that these teachings are subject to a variety of individual interpretations; and we allow wide latitude for discussion of related topics as well. The appearance of any topic, post, or discussion in the Forum does not constitute an endorsement by the Fellowship or any of its members. It is our hope that, through the synergy of collective inquiry and discussion, the DLF Forum will further its members’ quests for truth and clarity. By agreeing to these terms of service, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any temporal laws. The administrators of the Forum reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason. All contents copyright © 2002-2007.
